FP6 “IYTE-Wireless” Project

Upgrading Antenna Research Laboratory Infrastructure

The main objective of this workpackage is to improve and upgrade the experimental research and prototype designing capabilities of our existing Antenna Research Lab. Deliverables are 12 month progress report on the purchase and efficient calibration and utilization of the anechoic chamber and other lab materials, verification of antenna and RF-electronic labs alignment and seamless interaction capability, with respect to equipment for fabrication and measurement; 24 month progress report on the simulation, prototyping and testing capability of the lab. Major milestone is purchase and installation of the new equipment (efficient calibration and utilization of the anechoic chamber and other lab materials), and organization of the lab by the 12th month of the project. Further expected result by the 12th month of the project is that providing seamless interaction capability with RF and Microwave Electronic Lab (Workpackage 2). By the 24th months of the project making efficient use of computational tools provided by Workpackage 3, and establishing a state of the art scientific research laboratory are the main outcomes. By the end of the 24th month, we will be able to fully develop and test antenna elements/prototypes which can be subsytems for larger communication devices and systems.
